Treatments

You’ll get the individualized treatment you need.

We look at the whole person rather than a collection of unrelated symptoms. Your individual needs will then be addressed using hands-on, therapeutic touch to release restrictions and balance your body. Based on our findings you will learn what you need to do for yourself to regain fascial balance and promote healing.  Patient input and feedback is encouraged before, during and after each session.

Our Treatments

  • This technique works with the fascia, connective tissue found throughout the entire body. Fascia surrounds every cell; it is an uninterrupted, three-dimensional web of tissue that extends from head to toe. It is responsible for maintaining structural integrity.

Healthy fascia is a fluid system. When fascia becomes bound down through life experiences of postural habits, injury, overuse, repetitive motions, stress, surgery or chronic inflammation the fascia hardens into restrictions putting enormous stress on blood vessels, nerves, muscles and organs. These restrictions and the resulting pressures (which can have a force of up to 2,000 pounds per square inch) cause muscle spasms, pain, tightness, discomfort, fatigue, loss of movement, and many other symptoms. MFR techniques release these restrictions so you can achieve optimum health.

There is a transformation happening within health care, individuals are taking control of their own health. They are making choices including healthy nutrition, balance between activity and rest, and seeking alternative health care in order to achieve total physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. John Barnes MFR has stood the test of time as a powerful healing tool.

  • When the body is balanced and in good posture the muscles are a relaxed guide-wire to maintain the bones and joints in alignment against the pull of gravity. When we have gotten into habits of poor posture the muscles are weakened, the fascia gets bound down, this creates a force against the balance of the body systems. Maintaining a good posture at all times while sitting, standing, and walking is impossible when there are fascial restrictions pulling the joints and pelvis off balance. The intense physical demands athletes place on their bodies may lead to shortening of muscle fibers, also as we age our muscle fibers tend to shorten. The result of this shortening is increased muscle fatigue, loss of power, speed and endurance. Over time fascial restrictions build up causing constant tightness in certain areas making it difficult to maintain good posture. These imbalances can feel like a straight jacket, exercise and stretching will not help without first releasing the fascial restrictions. Strengthening the body when it is imbalanced often leads to greater imbalance and injury and tends to strengthen the postural abnormalities.

At Theraspring you will learn where your imbalances are and what you will need to do daily to stay on top of your bodies postural habits.

  • Pelvic Floor Therapy using MFR has had great success in alleviating pelvic pain in both men and women. Balance comes from addressing pelvic fascial restrictions both externally and internally. Restrictions caused by poor posture, infection, pregnancy, childbirth, inflammation, surgery, etc. result in fascial restrictions that can pull the pelvis and pelvic floor out of balance causing some of the muscles to be overstretched while opposing muscles are too tight. When the fascia becomes restricted there is increased strain on the delicate structures. The result comes in many forms of pain and dysfunction including but not limited to: menstrual problems, incontinence, urinary frequency, infertility.

Treating the pelvis to create balance of all structures is a key concept of John Barnes MFR. Balancing the pelvis and releasing the fascial restrictions allows the pelvic floor muscles to support and protect the delicate organs. This frees the body to allow it to return to its natural pain free state.

  • Craniosacral Therapy works with the rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid of the central nervous system, which flows through the dura matter around the brain, the spinal column and down the sacrum. Very light touch of the cranial bones can balance this rhythm by removing restrictions, thus leading to enhanced overall health.

  • We use the cold laser to complement our Myofascial Release treatments. Long term fascial restrictions can benefit from the healing effects of the laser before MFR techniques are used to elongate and open persistent restrictions.

  • Reiki is an ancient and natural healing therapy. Reiki means universal energy, or the life force energy that flows within, through and around everything. The practice of Reiki can relieve pain, promote healing, growth and relaxation. It can help to restore physiological balance. The energy works with our body’s innate ability to heal. Reiki has become part of what is being called ‘integrated’ medicine, an approach that combines the very best in scientific medicine with insights from ancient healing systems.

  • Nope! Each client is treated as an individual with their own web of inter-related restrictions. Based on our findings you will learn what you need to do for yourself to regain fascial balance and promote healing. Patient input and feedback is encouraged before, during and after each session. The combination of therapy techniques and nature’s ability to heal have evolved at Theraspring into the true art of therapy.

  • Myofascial Release requires skin to skin touch. Patients normally dress down to their underwear, but if you feel uncomfortable doing this please wear shorts or a bathing suit.

  • Definitely! We recommend that you drink plenty of water after each session to help hydrate the tissues and wash out the toxins that have been released.
